It's interesting how you itemize all the events of the opening ceremony with such poise. I watched it with some friends of mine and we all unanimously agreed, China's opening ceremony couldn't be matched. Canada has no rich history to really integrate into their opening ceremony. Yes, they did their best with the folk dancing, but it seemed like an attempt to replicate the Irish celtic dances.
