I used to collect stamps
I'm not sure why I stopped. When our first son was born I bought 'First Day Covers' until he was 11 and they are wonderful to look back over. Not only are they a slice of British history but also a mirror of the first years of his life.

Straightforward
Stamp collecting is an amazing hobby. I was a collector as a boy and when I went in the military I gave my collection to my Dad who grew it into 6 huge binders, he had years of joy of doing that and I have always felt happy that I had started him at the hobby. That was another lovely post luv

It's a huge hobby, that's for sure. I wonder if it's been effected by the fact that the post office (at least in the U.S.) is not being used that much anymore.

How true that is.  I have studied much of stamps online since I first got internet.  Also, I always thought the stamps on envelopes of mail I received was as interesting as what was inside.
