Sounds a bit like a college dormitory, far far from home. Even the small
arms fire sometimes in some neighborhoods.

You words show a lack of despair, sorrow yes, but no despair. I pray for that attitude to stay with you.

Re:
I am sure your grandson will enjoy his experience. The military is a hard life, however,  Marines are tough and take care of each other. He will grow up fast! I wish him the best...

Thank you sam... I hope your son is well. We do have access to DVDs. There are local bazaars that sell a lot of American television shows and movies. I really appreciate the offer to help me out though! I am a big Sox fan and enjoy the Cubs also. Nothing like baseball season in Chicago!

I understand what you are saying! It can be trying at time! I have a son in the Army and he has said similar things! I read your comment at my blog and I will always be here to read you and just stop by when you have time! I am very proud of you for your service! I read your profile and saw you were from Chi town! Right on! I lived in Michigan when I was a kid and we would go to Wrigley Field! So I lean toward the Cubs. And in the American league I root for the Tigers and you know how the Soxs have owned them for the last few years! I am getting excited for the new season, pitchers and catchers report very soon! I hope your Sox do well this year and I hope they do not own my Tigers! I would be pleased with a split! lol And Then I saw you were a big fan of The Office! I have a friend who lets me access her netflicks account and I watch an episode or tow every day! It is such a funny show, I can watch the reruns over and over! Do you get to see The Office, even on DVD or do you have access to DVD! If you don't have any I would be happy to send you a season! Just let me know where to send and how and it will get done! sam

I just saw your name today on the comments page of sam444.  So, I just read what you have written so far.  It makes me feel both good and bad.  Some things comfort me and some make me worry.  You see, my Grandson Peter just recently joined the Marines and he goes away to boot camp in April.  This is very scary for me.  He has never been away from home by himself--always with family of some kind or with school friends.  I hope he finds someone like you to be "a brother", a friend, a companion.
