Very true Fema, and each moment of loss bares a lesson necessary for times of plenty too

Re: TAPS
Thanks Taps, I'd normally agree with you on that - I went through a moment of self pity and decided to drag the inspiration out of it

Excellent and very touching
I would not have wanted to miss the magic of my love even though I miss Richard so much now.  It is the Magic of Love that warms my heart on these cold winter days.Valentine balloons

Wow  Neil... I know just what you mean... Wishing not to have known what to wish for :-)  but you are right, what would life be without love but an empty nothing... the pain, the loneliness... the longing... its all worth it if when we close our eyes we can feel for even a second the marvelous sensation of touching with ours their lips... or if we can imagine what has never been but may yet be <<<sigh>>> You are truly a master poet my friend  xoxoxo

Your emotions are expressed so good even when sadness is the name of our song  Keep on the good work.  Chuck.

Longing can be overwhelming at times! But this is excellent! I loved this:

And yet that miracle I complain of,
That makes each moment with you ecstasy
And bathes our days in gentle bliss

I thought the use of miracle was very powerful, just because it feels the way it's stated! Bathing in gentle bliss, YES INDEED! This was well written and worth a picture of a thousand words as it were. (Love reversals and this poem fit in, well as though a miracle in its own right) sam

Well done.  I am a true believer in that it's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all.

I could quote platitudes but I won't - something trite but I sha'nt ~ this touched my heart - for the feelings it moves to the reader - you know after I read this I hear that tune in my head..."can we still be friends"  it can be corny but I remember a time when I was feeling so lost after a divorce - this helped me understand and come to grips with 'friendship' and beginnings again - in a different light.  Just a memory after I read this.  Elyse
