How can we get people who matter to religiously "inspect the cargo" and then reject that which is inappropriate or tainted?

I served on many a curriculum committee and for the life of me I do not remember any of this being discussed! I can see how it could get through though because it usually came to the committee after the department heads worked with the specific areas for our perusal. So in that instance I can see how things would get through to be approved! They never went to the Board of Education without prior endorsement from the committee and I will admit we relied heavily on their recommendation without fine tooth combing the text! In fact many things could have passed through! I do remember keeping creation out of the curriculum to be the big bone of contention so to speak! Bottom line a lot can get through to the kids! Another frightening aspect for anything that could get through is the fact that it was geared to k-12 articulation! I almost wish I had never served on those committees, but being a school administrator I was not privy to declining! I now wonder what part I could have played in anything that would be adverse to fostering children!
Another note I had the horrible task of telling my son that Phil Harris of "Deadliest Catch" died! He had a massive stroke! He was captain of the Cornelia Marie. He knew him quite well because his boat sold fish to my son's boat the Stellar Sea! I have wondered if you ever saw the Stellar Sea on the program! My son also aspired to be on his boat or one like it but I couldn't deal with and pleaded for him to become a landlubber! I have since got my plea answered! Both boat were out of Seattle! That is just one stressful job even if the money is good! Shelly

I went to private but cannot remember too much about what our textbooks said. Now I'm curious and want to check out the textbooks...As far as college went I never took a course that dealt with Islam.
