Some of my favorite people are Canadians
In fact my family entered the US via Canada, having missed their opportunity to take passage on the maiden voyage of the Titanic into New York.
Good on you, Canada!

Re: Not oxymoronis , but a no-brainer johnmacnab
It's the bleeding heart, jingoist part of the American society that we laugh about up here, but after seeing the first Canadian gold medal being won and the immediate response as crowds in downtown Vancouver started singing the national anthem, I'm beginning to think there is not a border between us.

I'm an American (well, a Yank sort of American( therefore I am naive.
OR it's cousins, jingoistic or bleeding-heart liberal.

How could anybody, regardless of religion, be annoyed or miffed at your humorous mind convolutions, majroj? For instance I love the oxymoron in your sentence regarding you being naive. Let me try that in a sentence. majroj is naiv--- - no, sorry it just won't fit.
Don't get to amorous tomorrow, OK?

Hahaha.
I just wish I could make it stick in Courier New.
America's like Oprah. When we carry so much stature it behooves at least some of us to watch our path a little.

naive is my guess...............
I liked your jokes very much and if we cannot joke without spitting and throwing knives, then what's a heaven for.???? It was funny and so was Franken's idea and Americans are to sensitive, I think sometimes, about other's feelings, when they aren't QUITE that empathic to ours.
How do I get the darned font to STAY on
3 all the way through my writing, I am angry at the font, how dumb is that?

It's always difficult to say what would constitute being humorous in one neck of the woods as opposed to another neck in the woods! For me, any humor done tastefully is fine by me! sam

And why do we say "under" instead of "in" a burkha?
I know I know, wearing such gear is a headache (ask any traditionally garbed Catholic nun, or firefighter), but THAT would be the humorous side "lifting the tent"*.
*as in, once the camel's nose is under the tent, the rest follows.
