Very meaningful imagery! I liked the presentation, too! It was highly descriptive, too! sam

That is a very good poem. It is very sad when someone you love goes the wrong way and ends up like this.

Re: janey
Statistically speaking, over half of the adults in the U.S. have an immediate family member suffering with alcoholism.  So, while most of us would rather keep the "elephant" tucked away, many people can relate to some aspect of this poem.  Thanks for reading.

The picture painting in words is heartrending, touching, and really worth in the evocation of soft feelings.

Re: Janey
WileyJohn - congrats on your soberity!  What a tremendous blessing to yourself and to your family to celebrate 42 years.  I think to really understand, and possibly appreciate, this type of poem, you must have walked the road - either side, or even at a distance, would do.  Thanks again for your encouraging comments.

Re: really really good. Wiley wanted to read this to me but I chose to read it
Thank you Kabu - to tell you the truth - I'm not sure about how "good" it is, but I know it was quite an experience to write.  Thank you for reading and encouraging me on.

really really good. Wiley wanted to read this to me but I chose to read it
for myself and absorb each poignant word. Wonderful writing.

Janey
That was extremely poignant for me, and extremely good writing that touched my soul. You see Janey, I've been sober for just over 42 years now, so I really FELT what you took the trouble to right.
