I'm not sure how nice it is to have a sympathetic supervisor when that supervisor might be writing you up...I would think that with its bureaucracy Sears would have had some sort of research done where they can figure out how many credit applications you should be getting during your eight hours...From the sound of things they think it's still 2005 instead of 2010.

That is most unfortunate and I don't know why those stores push so hard for customers to sign up for cards. They are just stupid and hurting the business and it's employees. Sorry you have to deal with that luv.

What do management know about anything?
So many managers spend so much of their time preening themselves and their precious status that they come to see self-management or self-preservation as the sum total of the tasks they need to address.

One bi gthing is tobe really polite and smiley and caring to the people at the checkout.I have seen faces gofromresigned misery to surprise to delighted laughter when Wiley and I breeze through with laughter and a cheery friendly word. No we don't sign upforthe cards and I feel bad when we say no because you are right....more expensive credit we don't need. We had a Zellers card for awhile and it got out of hand real quick. We paidit off and cancelled it. Tell your big bosses that people have the right to say No and it isn't your fault and if you push too hard they will avoid the store.

I'm sure it must be very difficult to get people to sign up for a credit card!!!  Management can so easily lose sight of what's going on in the "trenches".
