YOU HAVE NO CONSIDERATION FOR ANYBODY ELSE IN THE WORLD
Reading a history of the Panama Canal and the ongoing riots and violence by Panamanians against U.S. holding the canal, it is understandable that Pres Carter would negotiate a new treaty.

Considering that there are a lot of other people in the world besides those in the U.S., It is only reasonable to listen to their grievances and accommodate their concerns.

But you don't care a whit about anybody outside the United States.

And, more narrowly, when it is distilled to its lowest common denominator, if you were honest, you would have to admit that there are few people you care about outside a very narrow circle of friends.

That is the cause behind this post of yours.

like welcome to the world at large, people
the REAL world, not just the provincial little world of fantasy you live in.  The internet is international -- other countries have as much a right to it as we have -- what do you think WORLD WIDE WEB means?

and control? who controls the web?

and would the world for long accept U.S. control?  I think not.

We have a president who is cosmopolitan, who thinks internationally and inclusively, not provincially, nationalistically, and narrowly, like Bush.

There a whole entire world out there, and we darn well better become a part of it.

Excellent post. I don't know how anything could have been more telling than 'mirror, mirror on the wall'. Thanks for this post. Is there any way the ignorant can be made to see this for what it is. We are being  made into a puppet nation of such dangerous management it is crazy.

with Panama, it was a treaty signed when the canal was built

so you think the U.S. should break a treaty?

with the internet -- that's now an international entity.

so the U.S. should control the rest of the world?  is that what you think?
