It was also our Gran's fault. I've noticed this with our two granddaughters. Ell almost slobberers over them trying to get them to take this or that. She is always asking them if they want anything and picks up everything. Her excuse is that she is spoiling them because they won't be children for long.

Where have I heard Naut's excuse before? Oh yeh - my sons talking to my daughters-in-law, and any one of my given ex's..... Liked your peom very much, Pat-B, so very easy to identify with the feeling.

Very nice.
Sad but nice, is that an oxymoron? Great poem, Pat.

You've read my mind! At this stage of my life solitude is welcomed at times.

Again, a great poem! And its true, we men are slobs, often sufficiently so that the acid of our slovenliness erodes the romance in our relationships...But it's all our mothers' fault - they indulged us, picked up after us, and loved us anyway! So we expect no less from our wives and lovers...

By now we should know that every coin has it's flip side . . . and yet . . .

If in the end it comes down to the little things the small but persistent
annoyances of sharing rather than the sunsets......the fat Lady has already sung her song. As usualaperfectly wonderful write.
