What great ways to fix up soup! I am with you I prefer home made, too! I have a pretty good chicken vegetable I make scratch as well! sam

Ciel
Love these soups! While I think of myself as an outstanding cook (and I may well be the only one who thinks that), I am somewhat wanting in the soup department. But this post of yours is an incentive for me to remedy that deficiency...

I'm with you, sister.  To add to my homemade gifts this year for my kids' families, I did soup as part of the basket (to cut down on so many sweets).  I've had to write up the recipe again and again!  It was chicken soup, but with Mexican taco seasoning and soy sauce and cumin.

And the best thing is, you can eat all you want of most veggie soups
so you feel satisfied, but they're not fattening. Great hungrifying blog...

Is anybody ELSE suddenly really, really hungry?
Ceil,
If I'm anticipating spending a long time in the woods deer hunting, one of my favorites is to mix a can of cream of mushroom and cream of chicken soup together, (one can of water & one of milk) in a thermos. Warms you right up and tastes good, too.
I could never figure out how my ex could manage to ALWAYS screw up making canned soup, and I asked her if she even bothered reading the lable to find out the right way to prepare soup. She got angry, and told me in no uncertain terms, that she always KNEW how to do it! Can of soup, can of water! Wrong, I told her. She actually DID read it then, and learned about the half water, half milk part. It took another question from me about all the lumps, before she bothered reading all the way to the end, and got to the "stir in SLOWLY and add it gradually" part, before her soup was even somewhat palatable! You can't fix stupid, OR lazy, I guess!
