As Kabu said, it seems that you know what you are doing--for the both of you. It's great that you gave yourself a nice long cooling off period before addressing and confronting. Too often we are too quick to retort and often regret it.

How wonderful.........you are , so forgiving and understanding......
You know this poor lost soul better than any of us and you just have to have some boundaries to protect yourself and properties. I am bursting with all sorts of advice but I realize that you know exactly what you are doing.
