My French is sadly sketchy but sufficient to enjoy what you've done here (my own fields were German and, much earlier, Latin). The French prof I DID have had the wonderful name, Dionysius, and loved medieval works. I don't mean to drag out the academic stuff so much but one last thing - Coleridge once advised this very thing: do a little reading in some other tongue you understand imperfectly - even if it's instructions with a new vacuum cleaner (example mine), it sounds somehow peculiarly clever! I'm sure he meant more than that, but it's what I remember. --- Lovely work and pleasant morning surprise!
