Perhaps you tend to tune into Dad lookalikes because even though it was painful, it was also your security. Thank God men are allowed to cry, at last. All that stiff upper lip stuff never helped anyone, IMHO.

I think it would be wonderful if all people were just true to themselves and genuine while putting the past where it belongs! Just be real! This was a grand discussion because I wonder how much the junk from my childhood affects how I think today! sam

Kabu, my fear is that it might...

and I won't recognize it, will only see toads.

But that's just today.

This was me ...I had a great Dad but we were always told we musn't cry

I stillfind it very hard to cry.

I tried love I thought I was loved but it was just the illusion and I fell forit....then I found Wiley and he is truly what I write and what he write. Gentle loving caring we are the focal point of each others life and I have never been happier. I never expected to fall in love, thought it wasn't for me or it wasn't possible just people kidding themselves. It can happen yet dear. It really can.

Tzippy, from what I have seen in that book,

some people are from Mars, some people are from Venus.

And the most sane cultures recognize that there are more than two genders in reality, regardless of there being basically only male and female biologically.

you are vey cute in your questioning
I find that men do think differently. I would find it almost impossible to have a deep feeling type of conversation with any  men. I can tell you that I have had woman type of conversations with gay men if that means anything to you :) but the book "men are from mars...woman..." sheds a bit of light on that dilemma.
