Don't know whether I am a good writer or not, but I will keep pen and paper
close by always, as I do lose my thoughts if they are not jotted down at once.

you are 100% right- this is very very important to a writer.
I will never forget one time that I was traveling. In the airport I suddenly got the urge to write, although I had 5 pens there was no paper ANYWHERE. I began to look at flyers, but there was no room left on the paper. I litterally ran around the airport for an hour asking everyone for paper, like a begger on the street, and Nothing. Than I got on the airplane I was sure that someone would have some paper on the airplane, but I remained without paper for an entire five hour flight. Since than I never leave home without it. (btw I did write my idea down on toilet paper, and than napkins)

Wise words, indeed! I have pen and paper handy all the time, too! When driving a tape recorder hand held is another great tool! sam

Re: What you have said is so true.
Being without pen and paper reminds me of an old saying, "a day late and a dollar short!". I might have misquoted that one.

Good reminder to carry pen and paper at all times--although, people who love to write would usually not be caught dead without them.  Don't you just hate it when you are excited about writing something down and you find that your pen has run out of ink.
