Afflicted by a severe case of temporary insanity, I once 'offered' for a position on our regional school board. I didn't actually 'run', since I recovered several days later and did my best to lose - and I did, though barely.
I know several politicians, and they're not even that bad - what I can't stand are the people surrounding them...
That's why I am interested in geopolitics - you keep enough distance from 'people on the make', and you can deal with 'forces'...

OMG is right!
I don't know whether to pray that my grandchildren never run for office or, if they do, pray they choose their other grandmother!

OMG Pat darlin' now I have to add to my prayers that none
of my Grandchildren ever run for public office,,,,or if they do it's the other Granny that they sell off.

I just vote in Provincial and Federal elections and leave the local stuff to the people that grew up here. Good for you PatB
