A beautiful piece of nostalgia, Pat. But I don't think it is emotion that is causing the tears to run down my cheeks - I think it has more to do with the last sentence. Thank you for that.

Awesome, Pat.
It was good that you stood up to the guy all those years ago. Something similar happened to me when I was a kid - the guy is still alive though, still an asshole, but alive. Sending a note was, nice.

I found this story interesting. I was pulling for you all the way. I never would have considered any response to a death that much later and of someone I had already finished my accounts with. Funny!

Good for you, woman, tearing him apart. Not all of what I did when a child was without blame, but I don't remember being a bully. Maybe you helped him grow out of that? Not nearly as much fun when the victim bites back.
