Extended family celebration before Florida Son and his family headed home this morning. There was no alcohol but lots of food and laughter and taking pictures. And it was the 15th birthday of one of the grandsons. He was born just two hours before midnight on that New Years Eve.

No, Lustorlove, I stayed at home all by myself and made the best of a bad job.
I could have gone out and spent the evening in the same way as you did, but decided that it would be a total waste of time and money, and I hate an over-geared festive spirit . I would have liked to have gone to bed early, but the noise from the fireworks made that pointless. So in the end I found a really good Chinese film and watched that until 1.30. Looking back on it I decided that it had been a good evening.
To be perfectly honest, I'm so glad the so-called festive season is over and I have a sneaking suspicion that half the population agrees with me. Sorry to be such a wet blanket!
