why do I bother?
because I don't want misinformation and ignorance to dominate.

light does blind the eyes and causes discomfort.

you can stay in the dark if you want -- but my mission is to spread light to those who will see it.

Why do you bother. You did not understand what I was saying. I didn't say anything about the Shah because he was not the issue, but the timing was the issue. I still would be so very saddened about anyone killing a member of someone's family because they did not like them.  I am saying why would you not consider cleaning some of the trash from before your door before complaining about other Blogit writers? You haven't a clue about me. Don't make me block you. You are rude (manners) have a lot to do with most things. If yours are bad then likely all your behaviors will be negative. Please don't keep coming here in a crude, rude negative and harassing attitude to me no matter what I write. Have you no self respect?

And this thing between Iran and Iraq?
It's a territorial thing.  A dispute over territory and who owns an oil well.

Nations of all religions have waged war over the same thing, so it's not exclusively a religious thing.

Re: Xeno-x
I don't see what manners has to do with the Shaw of Iran and his evil regime that tortured and killed countless people.  I understand why someone would want to killhis family though.  Somehow you don't think that anybody would be angry about his relatives and friends being tortured and killed.

And about judgment?  I would say that people should apply the same criteria toward the Shah as toward Stalin or Hitler or Saddam Hussein.  He was the same type of person.

This is interesting,  but not clear, did they or did they not take over the well in iraq? if you have more info please post on town square, for everybody to follow. Thanks for the info, it is one of the most important blogs I have ready today, if  not THE most important

Xeno I made no judgement against or for the Shah of Iran. I can't believe you who think we should all treat people so well. But then you made an exception with this phrase: 'no wonder people wanted to kill his family.' No I would not want to kill his family or yours. You are insulting when you call me irrational, and many other very demeaning slang derision; you haven't the intelligence to discern that fact, nor do you have the education and most of all you haven't the decency nor a shred of manners.

THE SHAH OF IRAN WAS AN EVIL DESPOT
no wonder people wanted to kill his family.  -- hasnothing to do with religion.  You seem to want to leave the Shah out of the list of infamous despots like Hitler, Stalin, Saddam Hussein.  He was cut from the same cloth.

BEcause the U.S. supported him and overthrew a popular president in the 50's, the Iranian people do have a hatred for us.  Has nothing to do with religion.

But you have to believe the way you believe.

Rational people don't believe that way.

Justi, thank you for the comment in my latest blog. I've posted a reply there for you.

This news item is worrying, I agree. It was mentioned both on BBC and the Danish news channel. Have a nice evening.

Yes they used small boys. This was when Ayatollah Khomeini came in overthrowing the Shah or Iran. I met the Shah's son in SC where he was going to school until it got too dangerous even there and he went to VA. A nice young man who could really tell you about Iran from a personal point of view. He was staying with his aunt in Paris after his father was sent here for medical care and watched as radicals walked boldly up to her home and killed her right before his eyes.

They killed each other off for 10 years I believe was the time span
using little boys to fight at times. Sigh.
