The holidays don't help depression either. Get through the month and you might be surprised how relieved you feel in January.

Just be careful
I have been on Soc Security disability for mental illness since 1997. I had to get a lawyer they turned me down the first time as they do with nearly everyone so be prepared. Just keep on them. And once you get it don't try working part time or working at all, they will screw you over and lie to you about things... so be very very careful it is a government agency and even though we paid into it and it is our money, they still think it is theirs. They are broke right now and are looking for all kinds of ways to turn people down and to stop benefits on people. They accused me of keeping $26,000 of disability money when I shouldn't have when I tried to go back to work for a 9 month trial work period that I was entitled to, but then they lied about it 2 years later and are taking out $500 of my monthly benefits to pay it back over the next 4 years and now I am struggling financially and it is not fair. I fought with them for 2 years on this and even had paper work to prove I was right, but them being the federal government, they won... so be very careful. We rightly deserve the benefits and we pay into them all our lives but when it comes down to getting paid back when we are in need they are a bunch of crooks.

Yeah, I got the same raw deal with my own mom. She didn't know everything, after all. She knew a lot, but not everything.
