Yes, we all read it selectively, even those who claim not to! And we all interpret it in the way that suits us best, but that's inevitable after nigh on 2000 years, isn't it? I think the basic principles are what matter - love, truth joy, honesty, integrity etc. - rather than rather small rules and regulations which were written for a primitive people in a very different world climate.

i actually read the story of king david today

i have not read the bible in such a long time, and for some strange reason I opened the book today and the story was so inspirational and beautiful with abigail helping him out and david taking on his enemies in such an honorable way,

I send you lots of prayers this week and tons of good energy for you to have an easy and fruitful week, which you will.

I do.  I love it.  It is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

benzinha
Think that is one of the reason Kabu and I love each other so much, we have our God straight in our heads and hope others have a God that doesn't make it right for them to kill others that think for themselves. Great post luv

Indeed, no one actually reads The Bible

it has come down through so many layers and filters of interpretation and translation... We can only truly best use it as a key to access our own hearts' knowledge and ability to connect with the Divine, whatever it is to a person.

It is, of course, fascinating also from a historical point of view...

Love this posr darlin' I don'tmind telling anyone that I am a Christian
who believes that God has been revealed tomany people in many ways. Trouble is humans all have the attitude....my way or the highway ....worse....bang bang you're dead. It's tough to find true love, and true belief and true spiritual peace.....if someone does then leave 'em alone is what I say. I am too busy learning about me to pick in someone else.
