...And have your visits been good, I wonder? What are your thoughts about your hometown nowadays?

...Understandable. Thankfully things have changed for you. I listen to friends of mine that have moved into Perfectville, from the town I live in now, and they are somewhat miserable with the same small town politics that we were battling 25 years ago. It's so sad. And the usual suspects, too...those same few families whose forefathers settled that think they 'own' the town. Could be such a lovely little place; but they make it so uncomfortable and difficult for newcomers. Like I said, not very 'Christian'. I'm glad you're where you're happy right now; that's all that matters!

I don't think I'll be here forever though. It's way different than it used to be though, or I might not want to be here!

I have so enjoyed visiting your gallery of memories!

Besides having some fine stories to tell, you're adept with the words to tell them!

No need to smack me, but I have no idea who those brothers are...I've led a rather sheltered life, you see...! Explain?

Uh-oh! Is that where I'm headed, too? Am I doomed to live the remainder of my days in Perfectville...? Uggh. Funny where we end it sometimes, isn't it? It sounds like you're happy there, which is all that really matters.

Great story!
This could be a Coen Bros. movie!

This is a really good post. It sounds like part of a chapter in a book! I have left my gas cap behind a few times. After living in sunny Arizona, It is hard to live somewhere else, but I'm living back in the town I grew up in. Never thought I ever would. I rarely see people I went to school with, but occasionally I run into someone I know. I don't have my year books anymore, and sometimes I recognize their face, but can't remember their names.

Ugggh. Never in my life would I have dreamed I'd do such a dumb thing. My sister did that once, but she's 'like' that...I didn't think I'd ever fall into that category. Now I am forced to add it to my long list of life embarassments. Darn.

You two are too much! So, I'm sure you can relate, being from a similar place...the best part of it all is this; they have no idea how strange they are...they think WE are the weird ones!!!

...Okay, I can't stop laughing about that one! I'm sure there's an element of truth to this! Ha ah ha!

So you're one of those people that rips out gasoline hoses, aren't ya? At my father's gas station we tend to be lenient like that as well.

Ugggh. I know. The only reason I might ever want to go is if I suddenly turned rich, beautiful and famous...and even then....not so much! What I see at those things depresses me...are there really that many people that never grow up? Sheesh!

Lol Darson...

I will NEVER attend a high school reunion...EVER!  I can't stand stuck-up bitchy girls or self-centred jocks.  And my school was full of 'em!

I'm thankful for the friends I did have in school though.  They made me a part of the person I am now...
