- Go to Continuing the Debate on Islamo-Fascism…Back to Specifics…
I wish you will learn to promote love and not hate between religions. This world is full of people who wait for the opportunity to join and battle on your side. I hope you will change and do some more reading before you try to discuss Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) and his religion Islam. My respect goes to eligno and sam444 for their comments that is full of wisdom: eligno "Perhaps it would be more constructive if we paid more attention to what we have in common rather than differeces." Sam444 "I respect their right to worship in their chosen way and I expect the same in return."
PLEASE READ BELOW I HOPE IT WILL HELP. Imagine if sombody is intending to learn about Islam. Are they going to listen to these great people in history or to Nautikos????
The famous English playwrigth George Bernard Shaw said " The world much needs a man with Muhammed bright thinking". If a man like Muhammed were to assume the rule of the modern world. He would succeed in solving its problems and bring peace and happiness to it."
Will Durant, author of the Story of Civilization said "If we rated greatness by the influence of the great of people, we will say "Muhammed is the greatest of the great in history."
Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe, the German writer said " Us the Europeans, with all our concepts could not reach that Muhammed has reached, and no one will be able to precede him, I have looked in the history of humanity for an example to find and found that it is was Muhammed, as the truth must be revealed. Indeed Muhammed succeeded to subdue the entire world to monotheism."
English Researcher Ligtner said "I declare my hope to see a day coming in which the Christians will highly respect Jesus through their respect to the Prophet (PBUH).Truly the Christians who recognize the religion and right pass brought by prophet Muhammed (PBUH) is clearly the true Christian."
Jean-Louis Michon, the French Orientalist, said "Islam which ordered jihad or Holy war, had much tolerance with followers of other religion ...., As per the teachings of Muhammed (PBUH), Omar Bin Al Khatab, did not inflect harm on the Christians when conquered Jerusalem.
George Wells, the English Author regards Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) , the greatest personality who establish a state for justice and tolerance.
Michael H. Hart said "My choice of Muhammed to lead the list of the world's mostinfluential persons may surprise some readers and may be questioned by others, but he was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both thereligious and secular levels." It is this unparalleled combination of secular and religious influence which I feel entitles Muhammed to be considered the most influential single figure in human history."
The French Philosopher, Lamartine said "Mohammed (PBUH) is Philosopher, Orator, Apostle, Legislator, Worrier, Conqueror of fantasies. In all standards by Human greatness is measured. We may well ask: Is there any man greaterthan Prophet Mohammed?!" If greatness of purpose, smallness of means, andoutstanding results are the three criteria of human genius, who could dare tocompare any great man in modern history with Muhammed?
The Great Indian Leader Mahatma Ghandi said: "After I finished the second part of the Biography of Muhammed, I felt I need to know more about this great personalityHe uncontested, won the hearts of millions of people."
The well-known French historian Gustav Lobon said: "Muhammed is the greatest man history ever knew."

I'm actually still waiting for your view on the headscarf/smoking/flirting subject. These women I observed are Muslims, adhering to islam by covering their hair, defying it by behaving "unsuitable". What are they? Heroes or uncertain what to do.

Nautikos
A great post when I can control my emotions, like anger and hate for things like this and the folks who think this.
"Prophet, make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their home." ( 9:73) "
This earth is way too small to contain the brain dead who think like this, matter of fact I am quickly thinking for any religion at all.

I respect their right to worship in their chosen way and I expect the same in return! To the end of the earth I firmly believe the Lord does not want killing in His name for He is injuring Himself and for me it is impossible to conceive. I am appalled at for the treatment of Tiger! I wish he would get on the course as soon as possible and get them talking about his game on the sports page where it belongs! Shelly

Nautikos
I withdraw from the arena. It is a particularly sensitive subject.
This emphasis on ethnic and religious differences in western societies is becoming a bigger and bigger threat to everybody's welfare and security. Perhaps it would be more constructive if we paid more attention to what we have in common rather than our differences.
Thank you anyway for an interesting debate; I wish more people from other persuasions had joined the discussion.

Iranian women have certainly lost a lot of their rights over the years.

You are preaching to the choir in my case, Naut!! I'm familiar with several of the women you quoted (especially the lesbian Canadian who is incredibly brave and outspoken), and they are all to be admired....Mal

Like Taps I am happy having been born of open minded parents that adored G-d their way and respected others enough to allow them the courtesy to adore Him whatever way they chose. These series of posts were , as all of yours usually are, interesting and educational. Reading them I learned many things I did not know and I am grateful to you for the time and effort that it took to illustrate for us this difficult subject in the sensitive and non confrontational way you did. Thanks :-) xoxooxo

I am so thankful that I was not born and raised a Muslim
for it seems very unlikely that I would have been able to divorce myself from it
later in life even if the thought had even occured to me. It seems
that being steeped in one religion or another sets the pattern for one's whole life.
Being born into a Christian family and raised in Biblical precepts
has made me what I am. That is usually true for any religion.
