MFAs are for people who want to teach others
about art, not for people who
create art...

Retreats and workshops are fun, but I haven't been to one
in a hundred years or so.

When you're reading that stuff you're making your own
personal MFA course. i keep meaning to enter contests. I keep meaning to open the magazine. Same as i mean to read all the New Yorker short stories.

You are probably way better than any newbie.
Pat B. You are, without a doubt, a damn good writer. What you should do is join Zoetrope, review poems, novellas, flash fiction and short stories by other writers. Then get your stuff uploaded. I've been uploading chapters from a novella I wrote - getting feedback, etc and it's been invaluable. Give it some thought.

Magazines like that are big money-spinners! Well, as you say perhaps the people at the library will enjoy reading it. Thanks for visiting! You are quite right about forthright children; it's a pleasure listening to them.
