Kabu
You probably have a point. I've watched Husband's step mom bend over backwards trying to love on those kids that refuse to be loved on. No amount of money she spends, or effort she expends will win them over. It just seems to give them more fodder for ridicule. The best I can do is to be a constant for him. Goodness knows he's had precious little of that. And he is a sensitive type, to be sure. I'm sure he's weary of the loss of three prior families. Thanks for being my Jiminy Cricket, Kabu! Hope you know how very appreciated you are! Hugs to you!

Uh Ha. Gotta leave that Mike to God. The more you say,the more that you do
it just isn't going to win him over....besides from his point of view, women & families are transient things that don't stay around for long so why get close to you.It will just hurt when you leave.

I am trying to teach this to my offspring now, after a few years of being rather relaxed about it....I think it helps that they are doing chores now...they don't want to mess up what they've just cleaned up.

Right on! They [my family] try to call me a pack rat, but it is impossible for everything has a place and in its place! I have more people tell me they wish their place was tidy like mine! lol It is a matter of everyone picking up after themselves and putting it back where they got it, WHEN THEY ARE DONE, LOL! sam

Your trips to the well should be much more peaceful, due to this fact!

I think you're amazing. It's more than I'm doing....Only maintaining right now. Some seasons it's easier to maintain than others...but right now has been rather tricky...lots going on within the household. Your Mrs. Brown sounds charming! We had a hamster once, too...she escaped and was found, spread-eagled, along the backside of our clothes dryer. Not a fun event. That part of pet ownership is a definite bummer. I'll be sad when Daisy goes....I've gone soft and never thought I'd see the day when I would say such a thing, but it's true. She and I have been through a lot together! Thanks, Taps!

I've never had a ferret, never wanted one, still don't,
but at one time long ago I had Mrs. Brown.  Mrs. Brown was a cute little hamster and she was a very fun pet.  But, I don't want another.  Their life span is only about three years and it's too hard to wake up one morning and find them stiff in their cage.  I've kind of gotten away from FlyLady, but just doing it religiously for a few days really got me in the mind of cleaning bits and pieces each day.  As they say, you can do anything for 15 minutes.  I still shine my sink every evening after supper dishes.  I have become used to empty shiny sinks and love them that way.
