no matter where we find them, friends are the same, wonderful people.
YOU have been a long distance friend, but no less special because of the distance.

Nita, and you too are one of those angels :)!
Btw, I too have been a single dad for the past 24 yrs here in the US...can't even begin to imagine how it must have been to be a single mom in India...one thing for sure, for all it's headaches & heartaches, loving parenting, joint or single, builds character. And you are soo right about all these wonderful souls on blogit here, amazing, definitely influenced my life very positively, bless all of their hearts. Hey, btw, thanks to you, I've included Periyar in my India tour this coming Feb. We could certainly use the sevices of a knowledgable tour-guide like yourself :)!

What a sweet post.  Blogit friends are friends indeed.  Always ready to "listen" to our cares and woes, ready to share in happy times, to congratulate, to pray, to offer advice, to wish for the best.  No matter how far away geographically, Blogit friends are as close as our fingers and worth every bit of what we have to pay to be here.

You and I have walked a bit of the same road, divorce, single parent to 5 and lived alone for about 11 years. I do know that it would have been much harder for you in India, cultures being what they are. We are the richer for knowing you luv

You are an exceptional person Nita and for those times of hardship you have been through, you emit much strength and character which shines through. Thank you so much for thinking of me as your friend. Have a lovely thanksgiving with your precious son.

Dear Nita, what a beautiful tribute! You contribute so much to our community, and I want to thank you for that too. I value your friendship and your warm comments. Until we hopefully meet next year in Copenhagen I will cherish our meetings here.

Your heart is full of love Snow and your strength...well, I wish I had even half as much as you. I've been so busy, but I always love reading the great info you share on Blogit.

I just saw your comment at my post and came right to your blog to tell you that you mean the world to me! It is a great community! I like it more for the friendships I have made than the writing although that is wonderful, too! You are a very special person and I adore you to no end! I was a single parent but only for 7 years, and just the youngest for five! But I had friends around me like you being 2,500 miles from family! I love your independence! You are a very special contributor to Blogit and have enriched so many lives! We are blessed to have you here! Love you Nita! Shelly

I endorse
Troosha's view entirely. I sometimes feel a little selfish here as I think I gain from others' posts probably far more than they get from mine! Very happy to be considered your friend.

Snow
It’s good to stop to appreciate friendships – be it on Thanksgiving or on any other day.  I was also a single mother for many years and my parents (though now deceased) lived many, many miles away so I too considered friends my “family”.   Within Blogit there are so many caring and supportive people – a community of writers, yes, but also a community of friends.  You have expressed your gratitude for that community feeling beautifully.  I am grateful that you are part of my world as well.
