Elyse!
I would rather be beautiful on the INSIDE. That's what counts. But to have a nose is very nice, too! Happy Thanksgiving, my dear friend! I imagine today will be a wonderful day for all of us. And yes, we are twins...but we knew that from the start, did we not? God Bless you right back, Sweet Sister!

So am I. This morning I just keep staring in the mirror...last year I went to the family dinner, still on painkillers and with my eye half swollen shut from my swelling nose. It's a sweet anniversary for me...my nose looks fine. What a little (big, actually) miracle.

Amazing. Terrifying.
Amazing they fixed it, terrifying they did all that while you were awake. And now you really are closer to the beauty queen thing -- all the starlets and celebs get something nipped and tucked, lifted and poofed. You are right in style!

~ Darson, now I know we're twins --- I used to be 5/2 - now 5/1 (due to shrinkage with age) and Dollin' I know you're still beauty queen beautiful ~ no matter. My goodness - it's great you really did go and have this checked out and I'm very glad they could re-construct. I cannot imagine the pain, as that is one sensitive area. God bless you Angel ~

Loved your last line of this post, Darson. Those special 'one-time' moments are what keep us going when the sh*t hits the fan of our lives. Glad it all turned out okay.

Nice! I appreciate the kudos, my friend! Yep, I think it's absolutely okay to cry sometimes...there are moments where the dam isn't strong enough anymore, and the flood just plain needs to happen. I appreciate every feature on my face (except that it would still be nice to have a couple of eyebrows...see that post for more info). I'm grateful, especially, for my nose. I've been amazed at how it's healed and...grown back, so to speak. Our bodies are incredible things.

sounds like you are doing all the right things, crying for as long and as much as you need, you are a beauty queen, don't need anyone to confirm that, and now you have a healthy perspective, who could ask for more!!! hoo-ra

Isn't that amazing what they can do to rebuild faces nowadays. I look at my nose each day and am grateful. Like you said, you'd never know unless you were really looking for it. And I'm not! Just happy to have a nose.

Ha ha ha. Yep, I will! I'm glad I'm okay, too. The day the nurse called to say it was cancer, I took off (one of the perks of being self-employed). I went to see 'Mama Mia'...all about a daughter's wedding. It was the music of my youth, and I enjoyed it, but when I thought about 'what if I'm not around to see my daughter get married?" (Knowing very little about skin cancer, etc), I just sat there in that empty movie theatre and wept and wept. I'm so glad that I took the day off to do that. I needed to have my cry, and a dark deserted theatre was just the place to do it. Not to mention watching a movie with strong female characters...just the ticket.
