....REALLY?....Hmmm, I don't know a lot about Germans; other than my mother IS one...I only know elementary terms like, Oma, Opa, Tante, etc....but they have dark sides? Well, that clears up THAT mystery...most of the strange things that we sisters can't explain, we say it's because we're German...whether that's the answer to the riddle or not. We all have fairly musculare upper arms, and Lillian claims that's because of us evolving from all of the barmaids in our family, carrying several containers of lager...can't you just picture it? Here's to our 'dark' sides....long may they live!

Hello Dee....

You and I are soooo alike Darson!  I too, have a darker side.  Now, an alter-ego?  Hmmm...Not so sure about that one!

Please don't misunderstand what I'm about to say, but from one fellow German...or are you Austrian?  Ich bin nicht Austrian, Ich bin Deuscht.  If you don't know for sure, you should definetly find out!

But I digress....From one fellow SaurKraut to another, I suspect your need for an alter-ego may stem from your ancestry.  We Germans all have an inherant dark side to us, after all!

And I LOOOVE yours!!!...

Yeah....I think 'healthy respect and a touch of fear' describe what Husband feels for Dee quite well. He's had a run-in or two with her, so he knows what she can be like....he tells me he doesn't want to do anything to 'wake her up'....she's dormant a lot of the time nowadays...but she's happy to come out of hibernation, if the need arises. I love the term Warrior Princess....! And I agree that we all have one. It's just fun to give her a name! I really enjoy your comments and your blog posts, Pat!

Thank you so much, Hackthorne 19...and I believe it was you that sent that thoughtful email the other day, so DOUBLE thank you! And as far as more???....this blabbermouthed blonde couldn't keep her mouth (or keyboard) silent if she tried...the floodgates have officially been opened....look out!

I think I've just found a new favorite poem. I must be so sheltered to not be aware of writings such as this...Miss Gee is like a warning to those afraid to live life to the fullest...when the Doctor said that if that 'energy' isn't expressed, it creates the cancer...my brain woke up. That is exactly how I've felt for the last couple of years, while I was running that cleaning business. I had no outlets...after work I had no strength left. The last thing on my mind was anything creative. I even stopped reading, which for me is like holding my breath for a long, long time. I will be hanging on to this poem...thank you so very much for sharing it with me, abanerjee!

I think we good women all have a warrior princess alter ego.
We're all in touch with our inner be-yutch from time to time. It's good that your hubby has a healthy respect, maybe even a touch of fear. Evens the playing field a bit. Loved this post. write on!

Conlyse!
...just trying that one out....That editing job would be really fun, what a neat experience for you!...yeah, I'm not sure about the red...if you've studied the different personality types, I think to be a 'red', you're kind of pushy, etc...but then, that would fit our Dee...I'm not red at all when I'm 'myself'...Purple fits me to a tee...royal and a little bit nutty....! And I wouldn't DARE call you late for dinner....I'd love to call you to come over and HAVE dinner, though!

...Then we'll have to protect her while she's sleeping....Husband's got her number and is planning her demise...he thinks I don't need 'Dee' anymore....but I still do! There are lots more mean teachers and cranky bus drivers out there...you just never know....! So, yeah, I think we'll be keeping her around for the duration. Thanks, Shobana!

Re: Hello Dee Arson, the last lines say:
They hung her from the ceiling
Yes, they hung up Miss Gee;
And a couple of Oxford Groupers
Carefully dissected her knee.

Hello Dee Arson
Me knows Miss Dee   and also Miss Gee, and did ya know I am A-Nee, pronounced Un-ni, as in but. One of W.H Auden's poems is Miss Gee. If you haven't read it, see here. It is a very sad lovely tale. .

Re: Elyse!
I actually don't have a preference and I like both my names. I had to have an alter-ego or alter name when I was an editor on a site that AOL offered years ago.  It was the Amazing Instant Novelist and I was a judge and editor as such for poetry and writing contests.  It was fun - and so, I kept the name elysian fields and actually became known as Elyse - Constance or Connie is what most do call me elsewise - either, or, I'm fine --- call me anything 'cept late for dinner  ~ both Elyse and Connie are actually the same, 'cept Elyse can get more 'wordy' (as you can guess) and yes, I understand purple --- that you are but Red ~ oy!!!  I've been there - but I've mellowed out is why just the darker blues -  ~ I just adore you Darson - Red or Purple (even plum) You're alright in my eyes ~ Elyse

Elyse!
...Which do you prefer? Hmmmm I'd have to think about what colors I might be....not much blue going on there, cause I'm kind of hyper. Possibly purple for the daily goings on, and a fire engine red for our friend, Dee....she's a firecracker, that one!

Glad to meet Dee ~ and I think everyone has a side that is a different color than the other.  I prefer mine a dark shade of blue ~ the other side an aquamarine or lighter shade.  Like a mood ring I suppose.  My eyes definitely tell the difference. I understand exactly where you're coming from and I am glad all those knuckleheads got to meet a Dee ~  You're precious!!! ~Elyse (Elyse is my alter ego) ~ Constance is the real --- thanks to my Mamma and My Aunt

I hadn'treally thought about this but yes, sometimes and usually on behalf
of someone I love; someone beside Kabu does step in with a stiff rod rammed up her you know where and sorts people out with a good tongue lashing. You really are a scream darling so much fun.

Alter egos are good to have. They give the ego a break.

My ego is my alter.  We fit like gloves. Me on the right hand; alter on the left.  This way each of us can say, when necessary: "On the other hand..."  joab
