So True
I could not count the times as my family was dying. I would have to talk to the the Dr. about medication and the side effects of . What they don't tell us is that they go to the Medical conventions. they agree to promote and prescribe the new medication, therefore they get a big check and patiants are used as genie pigs.

Congratulations on getting rid of the cast! You are right about having to keep yourself well informed so that you can manage a dialogue with your doctor and come up with the relevant questions. After all whose body is it?

I'm going to read some of your other entries now. Thanks for visiting my page today. Have a good day!

MY REASON FOR REPOSTING DANSE MACABRE, AS REQESTED

First of all -- thank you for your comment, and the fact that you grasped much of the poem's nuances. Now . . . as to "why" the re-post at this date:  Simply because I feel that much "slippage" is occurring in our quickening society.  Everyone must adopt-- and adapt to -- a persona, mostly for economic reasons; and society, as a whole, is becoming more and more adept at rationalizing the need for the first two.  Organized religion, though it professes to be growing "by leaps and bounds", only pays lip service to the true spiritual needs of its spiritual community, and has its hands out -- grasping and groping.  True, there are exceptions to every rule; but organized religion is becoming "the exception to the rule."

Our politicians smile and smirk on cue -- for they always know where the camera is.  We have a president who isn't.  Our case before the world has been tainted with an almost indelible stain of egoism, both planted in the same fashion as an explosive device; and we blindly follow, all the while thinking we are leading.  Which, upon reflection, is not the case at all.  We are now followers of trends and readers of polls -- no longer followers of true leaders with visible goals. We are going to be taxed to the limit; not only of our wages but also our patience.(which is already wearing thin)

Ok.  Obama and the rest of the mangy, greedy and avaricious politicians, agencies, and all those other hustle acronyms like ACORN --take my money, you will one way or another, but I swear somewhere there is a line being drawn in the sand, and more and more volunteers are ready to cross it.  So, Mr. O. and the Others(sounds like a do-wop group) take notice.

We are not facing the Rubicon here, nor do we have to cross it.  But we need to get rid of so many of those useless bodies in D.C.; those fat drones who can do nothing else but "drone" on and on in front of the camera.  Take heed, Mr. O., nothing is forever -- and pass the word, while you are at it.

Only the very few pols. pay heed or even lip service.  And, God help me, I can no longer trust their words, either.  Because of the continuity of corruption year after year; with the lies promising contrition if re-elected, I trust no one.

And, rightly or wrongly, I think that we are in a more vulnerable position than a year ago.  We have been set against one another, while no one guards...

the door.

This is the reason. Tzippyjoab

Your close is right on! I can't imagine the joy but I can feel the relief you experienced! Medications will do their damage over time! I truly believe this as well:

The universe is listening and respoinding to every move we make.

Great descriptive writing!
And such a valid commentary on medical overuse of pain meds, etc.  I'm glad to read you're free of the cast and mobile again.

Very good post.  Everyone needs to be a little more careful about taking medicines, both prescriptions and over the counter drugs.  Just because one can buy it does not necessarily mean it is good for you.

You have been so brave. Short term pain killers are ok, two-three days
but long term....life wreckers.

sadly true about being your own first responder to your health situations..
and oh what a glorious day you described, rising from the shell and separating into one delicate but independent being.
