2009
The simplicity of this poem made it extremely powerful and effective - it's real writing. It reminds me of something I once heard: "Real art sometimes is what you leave in the inkwell." As for 2009, my take on it was quite different - it was the year I discovered I had pancreatic cancer, overcame it, and volunteered to work with kids who have cancer. I feel I owe somebody something and had better get around to doing something about it.
