I understand the quotes and I agree with them
to a point.

as I say, government is us.  they are human beings.  you wonder what makes an ordinary citizen like the rest of us into a government type.

maybe its because we all have within us what shows more in government officials.

government governs too much in some ways, not enough in others.

taxes levied are unfair in many ways.

and the point i am trying to make is that many conservatives use quotes like we see here to support their radical viewpoint that government should be virtually nonexistent.

what I tried to do below is demonstrate the fallacies of less government

without government, we would be at the mercy of social and economic Darwinism, where 99% of us would live in abject poverty and at the mercy of that 1% that would make our lives a living hell.

Thank God for government!

Great quotes, even if my one of my favourite liberal doesn't like them.

That one of our, shall we say, members of the lunatic fringe doesn't even understand them was to be expected...

Oh, and this abanerjee chap ain't all that young - there's a long story behind it...

On the other hand none of you recognized what I'm trying to say.
You want no government interference in your lives -- that's what I read into your posts.

I gave some examples of what no government would be like.

MY GOD WOMAN --THAT'S AN OUT AND OUT LIE!!!!

Only one person was kicked out of Blogit because of me and that's because he was spreading lies about me.
I gave him a chance to retract and he didn't.  Blogit recognized his writings as libelous and acted accordingly.

One must do as you did, react honestly. I do believe you do not know these people or much about the true history of the USA. To me these true statements in lots of cases represent what has come to the forefront by so many false moves. All are not Americans and all are not laughable by any means. You have never lived here at least not since the 1960's I guess.

I do so appreciate your reading my work and speaking truly the way you feel. Are you familiar with the writings of Mark Twain? Are you familiar with the devastation done by the Germans in England during WWII? Are you aware how the USA went to their aid and that of France or they would be speaking German now? Still they speak about us as if they had sense. They don't, no country who goes with a Socialistic government has sanity.

Red States Man
There is not one shred of sanity in the man's comments on my posts. His intent is to rattle my cage. I know of so many people who have left here because of him, or have been taken off Blogit because of his objections to them. This one goes overboard.

A lot of brain power left when some of the 'old wise ones died'. Some of what passes for sages today are boild down air-heads. Thank you for reading me.

Thank you for your comment. You are young and well educated I am assuming both. How much do you know of these men and of American History? I hope you get to know it truly from old pages before it was cannibalized by more liberal ones who not only wanted to change our country but all it's history down to tearing down monuments, or revising others and saying much did not happen. I believe you would enjoy and be fascinated with the truth. Thanks for reading me.

If so, it must be #17.  I recognize all the other names.
My dad loved the wit of Will Rogers.
I like good quotes.  They are short and to the point and usually contain the meaty portion of whatever speech or writing it was taken from.

Re: You should try to get along with no government at all.
You just blasted me earlier in another post for wanting to fight islam now you say that people can also figure out their own defense??? Which is it? You have always blasted the defense of this nation. Get it straight!

You should try to get along with no government at all.
first, vigilantes to make up and administer "the law", where laws are nonexistent

groups of neighbors can contract for their own street, sewer and water installation and maintenance

local people can figure out their own traffic regulations, stops, lights, speed limits, etc., and figure out how to implement such -- signage & street markings, etc.

people can also figure out the "natoinal defense"  we don't need no government defending us from outside forces.

schools can make up their own systems, regulations and laws -- ways of educating people -- that would make each school district different in how and whom it educates -- and it certainly won't be those on the bottom of the economic totem pole.

I will agree that government does go overboard, and that lawmakers can be rather dense.

Odd thing is, these are men and women who come from the ranks of the people -- us.  In a way, they reflect us.

The whole of society is not that much different from government, fouling up, subject to human greed and avarice.  They are us.

I take it you copied this blog from somewhere else.  The inclusion of Gordon Liddy is precious.  An unrepentant burglar and subjugator of the Law.

I'm not sure how to react to these. Although I enjoyed reading these witty comments I disagree with most of the underlying sentiments. Perhaps this goes to prove that laughter is one way of uniting a troubled world. Thanks for sharing them. Here's wishing you an enjoyable day.
