- Go to Obama: A Year Later, and Much More…Part IV
Nothing you say is boring Naut :-) and you are write in that I don't think anyone knows how to do what he advices... Do we even know if he is right? if what he says should be done would work? Reading your analysis makes me glad I have never truly gotten into the political goings and comings around me. This is very interesting though... Be well xoxoxo

Re:
First of all thank you for this serious analysis of the underlying situation in Afghanistan.
IMO it was an ill-conceived project both because:
1. it is very difficult to impose our ideas of nationhood and democracy on other societies
2.Geographically speaking it is an impossible terrain to win a war.
3. War does not 'win hearts and minds'
However having said that what might happen to ordinary Afghan citizens if the allies up and leave is awful to contemplate.

I am little more if any smarter than the unedutated of Afghanistan, but it does appear to me that we should be very concerned about preventing our Nation from falling to bits and pieces before we begin to build something people don't want. I realize many are suffering there. I see vast suffering soon in this country as well. We need to restore our freedom. We need to make our country safe. We need to rebuild our economic base that has been deliberately destroyed and get back to our original Constitution before we attempt to make other nations into our concept of their needs. I believe our troops are scattered exactly where Obama wants them and in the number he wants for his purposes down the road.

It seems so complicated! To fundamentally change a group is fruitless effort for me! Shelly

Isn't the land of Afghanistan really an area of ancient triabl lands with
social laws that we just don't understand. An ancient area where the strongest war Lords of the time have always ruled and since the allies didn't get the terrorist they went their to get I believe that we should all just leave. But it isn't that easy of course because there will be more blood shed when /if that happens. More killing fields , because the tribes will punish the people who have embraced change and guess who will get the blame for that. It would take very strong brave people to say to a corrupt Governing body, OK we can't work with you any more.....good luck and goodbye we've lost enough of everything here.
Yes I agree the postis rather academic stuff but at least you are writing so Good foryou and I shall continue to read.

Pert nigh impossible, as the Ozark hillbillies say.
It's bad enough trying to identify intangibles much less do anything about them after the identification.
