The methods come right out of "The Spycraft Manual." Message drops are safer and more common than face-to-face meetings we see in the movies.

Sometimes I feel like the porthole whose usefulness may have come to an end. That's when I have to kick myself in the seat of the pants and give myself a good talking to.
