Alas, most young chicks become broody hens, There goes 1/3 of her life!
Corbin,
I have been told that broody hens will try sitting on and hatching, doorknobs, light bulbs, handballs, golfballs, whatever they can talk themselves into believing is an egg. I think that women nearly all have this same tendency, "I CAN reproduce, therefore I MUST!
The most interesting women I have ever met, were childless by choice, interesting perhaps, because they didn't spend years listening to Barney, The Teletubbies, The Muppets, The Smurfs, Oprah, and wiping little noses and butts. These women had a passion for travel, education, research, culture, or just plain wanderlust and a need to explore new places, new sights, new ideas and meet new people.
I have never felt the biological need to procreate, but I confess to having kept in practice, because maybe someday, I might wish to change my mind. After raising my son, that was never a possibility, again. For a LONG time, I was reluctant to even shake a woman's hand!
