Thanks for setting the record straight. One of the worse things we can do is to deny the existence of the poor.

Bravo!
Thank you for this realistic picture of your country.

It is amazing how people are willing to believe all these fairy tales about life in other countries. Recently I blogged about Oprah Winfrey's misleading programme about life in the happiest country in the world: Denmark. It was a total misrepresentation of the facts.

Being  independent bloggers (generally speaking) we are able to help debunk these silly ideas about life in other countries. In that way we can perhaps contribute just a little bit to grass-roots international understanding and friendship.

Once again thank you very, very much! This was an excellent post.

Aspire - Aw..you've just burst my bubble with the absolute truth of what is happening all over the world. The show offs and the portraying of the rich. However, my friend is one of the lucky ones who is really rich as she is an Indian immigrant (her father runs some sort of business there). Did you know (I don't know if it is the Kuwaitis) that when some middle eastern tourists visit our country, some hotels close to other tourists? They take up the occupancy of the whole hotel for privacy. So we normally think them rich. But you are right - it is not always everyone being rich..there are those that run their lives just as normally with all the hardships to go with it. Have a nice day.
