Sung by Mukesh the song is evergreen. Shama is gifted shobs, and I, a poor poet. She has translated it with the beauty of a songstress/poet both. My attempt would have made the lyricist turn in his grave with a big frown in his face.

Hi Shamasehar, thank you so much. You did a fantastic job!! This song is so nostalgic. It was the rage when mum was singing all the songs from Sangam. I saw the link Betty sent me and thought I will go get the movie to watch it again. It is a classic isn't it. Thanks so much once again Shamasehar for taking the time and trouble to do this. Oh and the lyricist will be jumping for joy and probably come back to life again..lol.

Hi dear Elyse - It is in a way. I thought of friends and this song which was a rage with my mom during our growing up years came to mind and Shamasehar did an excellent job of interpretation. This song is also always sung by a good friend of mine. Thanks so much for your visit and kind comment.

Hi, Shobana its a lovely song from Raj Kapoor's film Sangam. Its a song of betrayal, the lyrics are evergreen or for that matter all the songs of this film are remembered & sung even today. I have tried to translate it to the best of my ability...................

Hi my Shobana! I have been nursing a migraine! I keep logging on to Blogit thinking I will be able to read but my head is still a mess! But, I have been thinking of you!
