You must live in a scenic, panoramic area with dramatic sunsets.  Your descriptions of them are compelling.

merkie, it is sad to see summer go and so much light with it as a result
of earth's rotation, but fall (and winter) has a treasure chest of good things to enjoy, many of them right in our own homes.....

Once again, beautiful, Merkie. We have had snow here already...a touch...and my fire is burning merrily...my doggies curled up at my feet...Each season has its merit. The dark starkness of leafless trees is a good background for the yearly visit of our ghosts and goblins, isn't it?

Merkie, this is as a portrait ~ I could fall into this scene actually --- so rich --- and your prose addendum,  ~ Inviiting!  --- I have noticed the darkness come in rather rapidly --- or maybe I wasnt paying attention LOL --- but, I can see the constellations in the sky - until close to 7 am and that tells me --- it's ''dark" ~ Hot chocolate yum - or Hot mocha as well  ~ Elyse

Excellent imagery of the sun waving a goodbye at dusk heralding with the onset of winters, and the cosy atmosphere we can create for ourselves with the hotties, of food and beverages .

Yes...a cozy warm feeling. And yummy too, I love warm, fresh cooked bread. The fall leaves do brighten up the day. Merkie, your poem just puts me right by that toasty fire. Love this!

It is horrible here freezing cold and the beauty of fall is finished.
actually it smellsof decay outside and needs snow to make all beautiful again.
