Every now and then I'll have a similar experience (though not in Turkish!). I love it when there is a meeting of the minds between strangers. Almost surreal to me; and such a....decadent moment! Glad you were able to experience that and I would like to see a picture of that piece of jewelry, if you could swing it.

We learn something new about ourselves every day.

That must have been great fun. Are you going to keep your Turkish up whilst you're in the States? It's such an advantage to be able to speak the local language.

You are very clever and I am quite in awe.I never got better than a few
stumbled over Greek words.I understand a little but can't speak to people at all. Marriage to Wiley is perfect. We cling together because we give each other all the freedom the other one needs.

Vogue

What a wonderful encounter and how great that you have mastered the language enough to have such a conversation with, as you said, a soul sister.

So much in that moment sounds charming!

I remember the first actual, out-of-classroom conversation I had with a woman in French.  Not fluent, but amazing to me that it happened as it did--similar to the feeling I get when suddenly, magically, seeds I planted in the garden put forth green sprouts!
