What you have written I agree with entirely. Will we ever have complete world peace - ever? Unfortunately I don't think it can ever be achieved - not with assholes on the planet like Dick Cheney, Kim Jong and Robert Mugabe, to name three. Still, I suppose we should live in hope.

we writers tend to escape into the imagination often recreating reality in our own vision.
take solace in this fact, if there is a nuclear war you can just kiss your ass goodbye and hopefully the world will live on free off idiots with another species given the opportunity to evolve up the chain of intelligence till they have the ability to destroy themselves
anyway get the picture...enjoy it while you can,if not a nuclear war then a comet,plague,tidalwave,global warming,next ice age,interdimensional pyschic predators...
