Re: Sam
Definitely a black mark. When I was up there last spring for a visit, I noticed that either Georgia or the federal government has put up signs designating the Trail's beginnings that you can follow--I'm assuming where the Trail intersects with highways. I would like to take some time to follow the Trail after I retire, or maybe before. I'll have to check the internet and see if it extends all the way to Oklahoma or just through Georgia.

I have a grandmother who walked the Trail as a child! I have written a couple of poems honoring her and one disparaging Jackson for forgetting that his life was saved by the Cherokee! It is a black mark on the government for certain! sam
