It's a shame when people take someone's kindness for weakness. But it actually seems in this case that for Spencer it is in fact both. I say that only because you said he didn't recognize that his friend was really mistreating him. But hopefully one day he won't allow that to happen.

I adore that he sees the good in all but to one's demise is not healthy! It is so sad when another that one cares for cannot see the handwriting on the wall so to speak! Perhaps one day as you stated! sam
