Understand Your Dilemna

My daughter is in the same boat. She works for a small business and can't afford insurance for herself. If something were to happen to her health, it would be catastrophic. Thank God! We also live in Georgia so my grandchildren are covered under Peach Care. I am also tired of all the political talk and bipartisanship. I don't care for Obama but I think the bigger problem lies in the Congress.

My daughter does  not want coverage if it means Medicare will be cut probably about the time I need it. If Peach Care works for Georgia's children, why can't the politicians use that program as a template? My guess is they prefer bickering about who has the most marbles rather than truly finding a solution to a very real problem without bankrupting the country.

This is a scary time. Hopefully nothing will be done that can't be undone when we see it is not working.

Re: Re: Yes, I know what you mean.
EXACTLY!! I mean when you have those who are working but can't afford health care then there is something wrong some where. I mean I am not against paying for health care but as of right now I know if I were to get it I wouldn't be able to afford things like a home food or breathe.

Re: Yes, I know what you mean.
I believe all Americans should have insurance and that it is going to cost money. But, another government takeover is certainly not the answer in my view. I think financially disadvantaged should be issued a guaranteed issue government funded plan which covers them at no charge until at which time they are able to afford their own coverage. But we still need to deal with all the abuse, waste, and fraud which is causing rates to spiral out of control.

It seems there is a conversation on the health care issue every day in my circle! This thing has been going on for so many years and so little progress! sam

I know what you mean...
Well I respectfully and completely DISAGREE with almost every word Hawthorn19 said....he/she sounds like she just memorized Obama's last speech! LOL  Actually it is a very serious subject. My family actually owns a health insurance company and therefore I believe I have the knowledge the speak on this subject unlike many who have basically just believed the far left liberals who seem to think they have all the anewers to an incredibly complex problem. Yes, your premiums WILL go up.. you are right. This new government sponsored health care plan is not good for most people. The ONLY people that will benefit are the thirteen million (not 40 million as has been said) currently uninsured Americans. This part of the plan I 100% agree with... because we should ALL have good health care but the rest of the plan is horrible to say the least. Trust me.. this has been my business for over 25 years... I know a lot about this area. Anyone who currently has health insurance (like yourself) which is 94% of all Americans will NOT benefit on iota and in fact will be harmed in the long run. By the way, I am not a far right conservative... I am one of those people that votes in the middle on most things and not with any one party.

You'll be OK
I'm sure the government is not going to make things so bad that you have to walk the streets like some homeless bum, dragging a couple of kids in a soap box behind you. Your new President wants to help everyone; he has a new health care plan he's trying to get passed, but it is an uphill battle to get the legislation through. Too many fat rich politicians  receiving kick-backs from the drug companies to keep things the status quo, are slowing things down. Obama - I believe - wants to break this hold these companies have on people like you and I believe he'll do it - eventually. Your country is one of the only countries in the world that does not have universal health care for everyone, and I really cannot understand why. Well, actually I can understand why, it's those drug company lobbyists stopping progress. I believe something is going to happen that will allow you to turn your life around and embark on the career goals you yearn. Keep the faith and you will become that writer or photographer you dream. All of us here on Blogit are behind you, keep smiling and be happy - your life will change, mark my words.
