Re: elinjo
Thank you. Most enlightening and exactly what I thought. Without a bit if "push" you won't get anywhere. Now I wonder who pushed Mrs. Müller.

Here's what I know for what it's worth.

I know a little bit about the background for the Peace Prize and it probably works in the same way. Last year  two Swiss members of parliament nominated the World Esperanto Organization for the Nobel Peace Prize http://dejo.dk/enhavelementoj/nyheder/esperanto-nominated-for-nobel-peace-prize-2008

In the past one of the most (now dead) eminent Esperanto poets William Auld was nominated continually for the literature prize from 1999 until his death in 2006. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Auld

So it seems to me,  in the case of such prestigious prizes you may well need help from a pressure group to get you anywhere at all.

Re: TAPS
The first name is indeed Herta. Sorry Mrs. Müller, sorry, TAPS

It appears that the name is "Herta Müller".  If you google that name, Wikipedia gives all of her works and history.
