Love the title of your poem Shobana. It's a unique poem, and dives well into status and greed.

We all should be able to look deeper and longer, there's nothing to hold on to, only love.

There are different motives for doing good and being charitable. Some good-dooers are altruistic and some are not. I can only hope that a good portion of the money that power-seeking philanthropists raise gets to the people who really need it.
A forum like this is an opportunity to openly share thoughts about different aspects of our lives; that's why I think it is necessary to respect each other's background and beliefs.
I enjoy reading your posts Shobana and value your opinions.

The greatest gift of all is most often from humble beginnings. It seems material wealth is a misguiding force for so many.compassion is born in the humble heart. This gives a different perspective on the valuable things in life! Well presented Shobana.

We see them in the news. We receive calls from the same charity telemarketers too many times. Ironically charity means love, love. BC-A, Bill’s RLJst

I come from humble beginning and I have had a lot of money; but, I am most happy when my needs are met and a plate on the table for me! I know the type of money person your refer to! They boggle my mind, a misconception on the right to command anything and then I have know those who are beyond wealthy and one would never know it! So I guess it takes all kinds and I am happy to have humble beginnings like you for my life has been rich or more wealthy because of it! Stirring my dear Shobana! I love it when a poet gets his/her reader thinking! Grand effort! Love you Sweetie! sam

Money doesn't make a person better, just more comfy. I've had a little
money once, it brought me a lot of grief. But I have always been a lady and I have always had room in my heart to love.
