This is such an amazing post. I am an avid gardener (not a perfectionist, but I love to get my fingers in the dirt) and a big fan of quiet, peaceful spaces. I set one up on my back porch and it's been quite the sanctuary. You made me want to get back out there again; haven't sat in my chair for weeks. Thank you!

WE HAD A BUSY BUSY SUMMER SO NOW IT IS OVER
WE CAN SIT AND WRITE THE WINTER AWAY. I WILL FINISH THE TOM UGLY BOOK THIS WINTER.

Whew!  Sounds like you've had quite the work cut out for you.  Doing the same here, more or less.  Getting the house winterized, though at this rate it will be interesting to see when/if winter will arrive.  A week and a half ago it was 90 degrees in this corner of the Montana mountains.  Now we finally have some frost -- which is how it should be.
