That's so funny! I know that my husband TOTALLY reminds me of my older sister. They're both kind of bossy (and both the oldest). Sibling rivalry, indeed!

Re: Ciel
Heh--I got it about siblings when, in a raging row with my husband I accidentally called him by my sister's name.  I don't have a partnership, I have a sibling rivalry.

Wow this is a lot of good food for thought...animals and houseplants are very telling, indeed...and the sibling thought is brilliant. You can pull off a good-sounding/looking relationship with hunting buddies, neighbors, etc...but not family or plants. You're very wise.

That dawned on me the other day...that there might just be something to that...and I agree, it could always be worse!!! Thanks, Isis!

uh oh... scary thought.  It explains so many things, but could be worse.

Good point-- look both ways before committing!

though there are many observations to make when considering how someone will be overall in the course of a life, especially a shared one.

How do they interact with animals? and do they have healthy houseplants?

How do they treat their stuff? How do they treat other people's stuff?

In the course of my married life, I have realized it is very significant also to check out their relationships and dynamics with their siblings.

Re: FormerStudentIntern
Thanks, FSI...have you found there to be any truth to it, in your opinion? Just curious...

An important interaction to take note of.

Re: adnohr
Yeah, I've seen that, too.

Odd. Most of the guys I've met are treated okay by the mom...it was the dad's who screwed up their attitudes!

Re: elinjo
Curious as to whether others think that rings true at all. That has been my experience; what do you think?
