Pat
I haven't been around much, partly for reasons  I shall explain, though not in the here and now. In the here and now I just wish you a belated Happy Birthday...

Sorry, I was a bit slow on the uptake yesterday. I read this and thought Pat's certainly younger than 74, so it can't be her birthday. So please accept my belated but sincere best wishes for a very, very happy birthday.

Happy Birthday Pat.  You've got me thinking here; can't you win and learn or is it the losing that helps you learn?  If it is the losing, my middle name must be Einstein.

Wonderful!   Are you sure that's not a typo on the age.  You've got to be at least ten years younger than that.  Happy Birthday.

That was a great post, Pat-B; perfectly setting up the readers for the last sentence, the truth of all truths. Happy birthday to you, my wonderful writer, with the useless (??) diploma!!

That is a splendid way to celebrate one's birthday!
I agree that  winning=learning and vice versa! Happy Birthday !

The realisation that it wasn't all in vain makes up for everything.
