If you for one moment believe that the kind of weapons that the average person has access to would be enough to stop 'Big Brother' from taking control if they wanted to, then you really are more out of it than I thought. The weapons and technology the military has right now... Well any handguns or rifles out there don't stand a chance against them. That is why I said the true essence of the second amendment is out dated now. The idea that we need to be armed in order to keep us safe from the kind of militaristic system that Bush was clearly trying to form, where the individual's rights are meaningless for whatever BS rational the leader wishes to use, does not work in this day and age due to our current level of technology.
So basically your reasoning here is no longer truly valid and if one looks at the facts, that argument actually would only help the gun control side of the issue.
