Go to Why can't I sue the whole country?

- Go to WE NEED TO GET THAT MADMAN OUT OF OFFICE BEFORE HE GETS EVERYONE
Spot on, all the below comments!...
It is this side of the human character, especially American, that needs to come forward, despite any apparent mockery from the extreme hard-liners. Then only America, and the world, can start moving towards mature, peaceful relations. I'm truly gratified to read the below comments, especially after some of the senseless rhetoric I've read & heard here & elsewhere.

Re: isiS_Eyes
Kooka, you have nicely condensed and restated many of my points. America was too quickly formed, though the spirit of adventure was a beautiful thing. Now I really have to log off this thing!

I think due to how quickly America got to power that has made us as a country too proud (In all the wrong ways) and over confident. We have too often shown a lack of respect towards the rest of the world, with many of the MACs claiming that we are the only country that really matters and that all others should just follow our ideas blindly.

I agree. The US Should not be foricng itself on the rest of the world as we have done. I hope that this is a sign that Obama has enogh sense to see how foolish and harmful that way of thinking has been.

Re: Just like with an adolescent,
oops, I didn't clarify. Adolescent refers to America, which is comparitively VERY young to have so much power.

Just like with an adolescent,
I tell my 15-year-old son all the time that if he wants to have freedom, then he had better be prepared to take the responsibility that goes with it. This requires a certain discernment capability that many of our leaders do not possess.
So like most things, I straddle the line on this one. America should and must take a stance against terrors at home and abroad, but must be sensitive to the sentiments of other free nations.
Again, I tell my son to accept responsibility, which includes not running with the wrong crowd, and being open to dialogue with those possessing more knowledge than he. Obama has clearly stated on numerous occasions that he is open and ready to talk to whomever is ready to share equally in leadership. In this regard, I think he is more than up to the task of balancing responsibility with discernment, worthy cause (peace) with the burden of follow-through (Iraq).

Re: Although I agree.....well-said...
there is some truth in this, and the sooner we develop the humility to face it the better!

Although I agree
with you in some ways, I always find that U.S. political rhetoric is on a lunar plane of unreality. Nobody is actually asking the US to come an 'deal' with their problems. In fact, for most of the last hundred years the world has been begging America to stay out...
