Religion/Spirituality and Fiction/Poetry
I've just signed onto the Blogging Network as a writer and reader and noticed your plans to include the above-mentioned topics. I think they both will receive lots of hits and I look forward to participating in the blogging process.

Okay, Another Reason for Names

I don't want to complain, but it is also useful to know who is writing a post so that you don't have to read a post to find out it is one of a series from someone who creates multiple posts on the same basic topic with a different name each time...

Anyway, I might not be making myself clear.  If I create 50 blogs with different names and they all contain the same basic subject matter, you might get annoyed by having to read it to realize this fact.  Does that make it more clear?

I guess this is going to be a pretty complex issue.  It really wouldn't be hard to monopolize the new posts list at the expense of everyone else... is it possible to give us an "ignore user" button so that we don't, by default, see the new posts of someone that we personally feel is misbehaving?  This means that you as a company don't have to perform censorship and that we can more easily ignore someone who is making it harder to find posts that are of interest to us.  If a lot others liked that particular user we could still find them on the top lists.  Please consider some type of "ignore new posts from user" in the account screen.

Please contact me if you have any questions.  I will be happy to describe the issue at hand and muse about possible solutions and their long term ramifications.  Keep up the great work!

I Second That

While I'm not sure such a prominent placement for the name is required, some method of knowing who is writing a blog is useful information.

As another suggestion, "Blog name - Append Title - Blah blah blah blah blurb... username X min ago".

I'm Just Full of Ideas

Would it be possible to have blogs listed under the author's name? I find that I skip over certain blogs, not realizing they are written by bloggers that I always read. For instance, a blog could be listed as "Damon Leigh - Fishing in the Rivers of Light." I know it would take up more space on the main page, but it sure would make my searches easier.

As a side note, I would like to commend you for your response to my questions/requests. It seems like I receive a reply from you before I've even finished posting my queries! In an age when you normally have to sit on hold for 30 minutes for customer service, it's such a refreshing change.

Idea...

I would love to be able to "subscribe" to my favorite wrtiers somehow. It would be cool if I could log on to BN and see that "Joe Smith" had written something new while I was sleeping. So much good stuff drops off the radar screen without our even realizing it.

Categories

Can we have humour as a category? It's serious stuff.

Like It!

Got my support on that one.

Just one caution...it would be posible to go overboard on categories. You're some way off this yet, but I know of sites that have categorised to such an extent that you start to long for a system that categorizes the categories. Then it's just silly.

Just thought I'd warn you...
